So, you built a lovely home and are ready to rest your head to get through the long night of angry monsters attacking your front door, but… how? Crafting a bed is not only great for speeding up the night cycle in Terraria, but they are also used to set spawn points for when you happen to meet an untimely end, and they give you a boost to your health regeneration.
While crafting a bed sounds simple, there are actually quite a few steps you must take to craft one, so let’s take a look at how to do that now.
Crafting A Sawmill

To craft a bed, you will first need to craft a Sawmill, which can be done at a Workbench. You will need
- x10 Wood (any wood will work)
- x2 Lead Bars or Iron Bars
- x1 Chain (can be crafted with one of the Bars listed above)
You will then need to stand close to the Workbench and select the Sawmill to craft it. Once crafted, place it down wherever you would like to move on to the next step.
Crafting A Loom

After you have the Sawmill, you will need to craft a Loom to make the materials for the bed. To craft the Loom, you will need:
- x12 Wood
Stand near the Sawmill and craft the Loom with the wood. After you have the Loom up and running, you will need to gather Cobwebs, if you haven’t already, during your travels, to craft Silk. You need 7 Cobwebs to craft 1 Silk, and a Bed takes 5 Silk to create. Once you have your silk, you are ready to craft the bed! To craft the bed, you need:
- x15 Wood
- x5 Silk
Stand near the Sawmill once again and open the crafting menu, where you will now see the Bed option. Craft the bed and place it down in your house wherever you’d like. It’s worth noting that a bed will need to be placed in a valid house in order to use it as a spawn point. A valid house must have at least one light source, such as a torch, at least one door, walls, and a flat surface like a platform or flooring.
